Our approach to
ABA therapy

At Northeast Family Services, we work closely with caregivers to help them feel confident and supported in their role. Our goal is to give families the tools they need to support their child’s growth at home, in school, and in the community.

We focus on teaching practical strategies that make it easier to manage behavior, build new skills, and help those skills last over time—wherever life takes them.

Compassionate care refers to a client-centered approach that emphasizes empathy, respect, and collaboration while delivering behavior-analytic services. It means recognizing and valuing the individual's experiences, feelings, and dignity, and integrating these considerations into all aspects of care..

Culturally humble ABA emphasizes ongoing self-reflection, lifelong learning, and respectful partnership with clients and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. It goes beyond simply being aware of or sensitive to cultural differences—it centers the client’s values, perspectives, and lived experiences while recognizing the limits of the practitioner’s own cultural knowledge.

Trauma-Informed ABA

Trauma-Informed ABA is an approach that integrates an understanding of trauma and its effects into every aspect of service delivery. It emphasizes safety, trust, and empowerment, ensuring that interventions are sensitive to the individual’s past experiences and do not re-traumatize or cause harm

Pride

We believe that members of the LGBTQIA+ community have deeply unique experiences that must be reflected in their behavioral services. Understanding the needs of our LGBTQIA+ clients is essential to building a positive behavioral plan to help work toward their goals.
