Northeast Family Services accepts ABA referrals from families, physicians, pediatricians, schools, and other clinical providers across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, and New Hampshire. Select your client's state below to review eligibility and submit a referral.
Our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program serves children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder and other qualifying developmental disabilities across four states. Contact us for eligibility details.
We provide individualized, evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis therapy delivered in the home, in community settings, and via telehealth, supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts and delivered by trained behavior technicians.

- Ages served: 3 to 21
- Diagnosis required: Autism Spectrum Disorder or Down syndrome
- Service delivery: In-home, or via telehealth based on client need
- Additional offerings: Telehealth social skills groups and caregiver training groups
ABA services in Massachusetts are available to individuals between the ages of 3 and 21 who carry an Autism Spectrum Disorder or Down Syndrome diagnosis. Services can be delivered in the home, or via telehealth depending on the client's needs. In addition to individual treatment, Massachusetts ABA offers telehealth social skills groups and caregiver training groups.

What Happens After a Referral Is Submitted
Our intake team reviews ABA referrals and follows up within one business day of receiving a completed form. We will contact the referring provider and/or family to confirm receipt, gather any additional documentation needed, verify insurance eligibility, and coordinate next steps for assessment and onboarding.

Frequently Asked Questions
What diagnoses are accepted for ABA referrals?
Eligibility varies by state. Generally, we accept referrals for individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. New Hampshire also accepts Pervasive Developmental Delay, and New York accepts Rett Syndrome alongside ASD. What insurance do you accept for ABA therapy?
We accept Medicaid, MassHealth, and most major commercial insurance plans for ABA therapy. Coverage and eligibility requirements vary by state. Our intake team can verify insurance before the first appointment.
Can ABA therapy be delivered via telehealth?
Yes. All four states offer ABA services via telehealth in addition to in-home delivery. Service delivery is determined based on client need.
How long does the intake process take after I submit a referral?
Our intake team typically follows up within one business day of receiving a completed referral. Timeline from referral to starting services depends on insurance authorization and assessment scheduling, but we work to move as quickly as possible.
Can families refer directly, or does it need to come from a provider?
Families can also initiate a referral directly. The forms linked above are used for both provider and self-referrals.
