One of the most common reasons people hesitate to seek mental health care is the assumption that they cannot afford it. We want to clear that up right away.
Northeast Family Services accepts Medicaid, and most major commercial insurance plans across all four states we serve. For the majority of our clients, out-of-pocket costs are minimal or nonexistent. And if you are not sure what your plan covers, our team will help you find out before your first appointment.

Do Not See Your Plan Listed?
Reach out anyway. Our team can verify your benefits directly and let you know your options. We may still be able to help even if your specific plan is not on our standard list.
How to Verify Your Coverage
You do not need to call your insurance company and navigate a phone tree. Just contact us with your insurance information, and we will do the verification for you. You will know exactly what is covered before you ever schedule your first appointment.
Here is what to have ready when you call:
- Your insurance card (front and back)
- The name of the person seeking services
- The date of birth of the person seeking services
- The type of service you are interested in (therapy, ABA, medication management, etc.)
That is all we need to get started on a verification.
Medicaid and MassHealth
We accept Medicaid in all four states, including MassHealth, NH Medicaid, NY Medicaid, and RI Medicaid. We believe that access to quality mental health care should not depend on what insurance card you carry. Our Medicaid-covered services include in-home therapy, outpatient therapy, ABA therapy, therapeutic mentoring, home and community-based programs, and medication management, depending on your state and eligibility.
If you are enrolled in Medicaid and have questions about what is covered in your state, our team is happy to walk you through it.
No Insurance? Let’s Talk
If you do not have insurance or are in the process of enrolling, contact us. Our team can help you understand your options and connect you with the right resources. We do not want cost to be the reason someone does not get the help they need.
